More Photo-Foolery at work. This time there was even a minor plan. Go for a 70s-80s retro/nostalgia/whatever look. And when I saw Irena's red shirt with skinny tie the other day, I was reminded of that great Kraftwerk cover, but didn't manage to pull that off. In any case, I'm pleased with some of these, and have a fantastic 17 by 22 print of one of them up on my wall. I suppose now that in order to avoid bare walls, I'll just hang my own stuff.

| Portland Pillow Fight |

I heard about the big pillow fight on Flickr. I figured there wouldn't be that many people there, maybe more people taking pictures than with pillows.
I was wrong.
A lot of spectators, and a lot of folks with pillows.
Definately one of the coolest things I've ever seen. If only I had a real flash unit...
Or a rig like this woman's...

Alright, if The Shield isn't the most sphincter-clenching bestest show evar, I don't know what is. It seemed like BSG was gonna be a good show, but there's been so many weak episodes in Season 2. It is odd that BSG does the flawed character thing that makes you HATE the characters. While Michael Chiklis does bad, bad things as Vic but you still root for him.
I guess that's what good writing and short seasons means.
And sometime soon The Wire will be back as well. |

It costs $70 for the remote switch for my camera.
It is essentially a button on a cord.
Suck
But the tripod is love. ( I can see that it is page 233 on the original. Now if I could only afford some pro glass... )
I'm starting to get some ideas for the next shoot, but man... Groups are tough to shoot. |

I've actually been using the camera. And taking pictures. Go me.
I still never seem to get any sleep before I troop off to use it, but I've actually had some folks being kind enough to sit for me while I try and get a handle on just how in the heck someone takes a portrait picture.
There's just so much to learn... |

I finally got to pick up my photographs from my San Francisco trip. Unfortunately, the part with my taking pictures was waaaaay too rushed.
So I get the packet of photos today, and am filled with dread. Will they all suck? I head to Mike's since he's near the place where I got 'em developed.
Suck, Suck, Suck, Suck, Suck, Suck, Less Suck, Suck, Suck, Suck, Botch, Botch, Suck, Eh, Eh, Suck, Eh, Eh, Hrm, Almost, Not Quite, Almost, And the final one... Hey, that's not so bad.
